Keep your friends close and your small dog closer
December 11th, 2006
I got caught up on Friday and didn’t get around to posting on here, I do apologize.
In case In the Doghouse in Alaska is still trying to scrape together a present for her sister-in-law’s dog, how about a pair of Doggles®, eye protection for dogs? From the web-site: “Doggles also provide protection from wind and debris. Whether your dog rides in a sidecar, on a motorcycle, or in the back of a pickup, he/she needs eye protection.” Might I also suggest this:

I actually saw this for sale at Furtunoff’s at the Source mall on Long Island.
While I don’t recommend using a small dog merely as a prop or accessory, here’s an interesting article. When sleeping with dogs, it’s best to go small. And excerpt: “For example, say you have a miniature dachshund draped over your knees when you realize that your feet are getting chilly. With little effort, you can just lift your knees, let the dachshund roll down your shin bones toward the foot of your bed, then slip your toes underneath it.” But John, what happens if the miniature dachshund’s feet get cold?

There has been much talk about dogs being captured by wild animals. Coyote May Have Taken Dog in Mattapan and Dog owner rescues pooch from claws of large hawk. I couldn’t imagine a worse site than a small dog being abducted in such a surprising manner. Be on the lookout!
