My dearest friends, I can’t seem to find the time to post on here these days. Between the discovery of 800 small dogs in a triple wide trailer and a drunk murdering a dog in a washing machine, I don’t know how everyone’s managing to keep up with all the small dog news! Do share your wisdom with me. Unfortunately, time is not on my side these days, so today’s post will be brief.

I do hope that in my absence that your fondness for small dogs has increased, exponentially. One thing I know that I am fond of is the San Lazaro celebration that recently happened in Nicaragua. Annually, on March 9th, hundreds gather alongside their pets at the Santa Maria Magdalena church in Masaya, Nicaragua, where they pray for their pet’s health and safety. According to Reuters, “locals say the tradition goes back to the colonial period after the Spanish conquest.” And people claim that all colonizers brought to the new world were pestilence and death. Pish posh to that!

According to the news, 800 small dogs were seized from a triple-wide mobile home in Arizona! How is that even possible???

Crufts, the world’s largest dog show, is currently taking place in the UK. They’ve got big dogs, small dogs and dancing dogs. The show is so popular and well respected that hotel chain Travelodge are providing their dog guests with their own beds. Will that include turn-down service?

There’s some unfortunate news out of Kashmir, India. Due to the enormous stray population and the rapid spread of rabies, officials have begun poisoning it’s 100,000 stray population. A sad solution, to a sad problem.
Cars can either be a curse or a blessing for your small dog.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a hawk. NO! It’s a coyote.

There’s some really sad and horrifying small dog news to report. Earlier today, a video appeared on YouTube of a Marine throwing a puppy of a cliff! I did not see the video, nor would I ever look as such a horrifying thing, but I am shocked, appalled and horrified just the same. What a sick and disgusting individual! Shame on you US Marines! I hope this sicko is punished.
A tiny, little dog in Vancouver, caused a load of trouble when he got stuck under the brake pedal of his owner’s van. A man escaped uninjured after his chihuahua, Paco, decided to cozy up under his pedal, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and end up at the bottom of a 50 foot ravine. Do you think a certain marine was actually behind this?

I have something really amazing to share (c/o Matthew). Be warned, do not click on this unless you want to be totally delighted…One word, PUG! Three more words, spic and span!
Now that I got that out of the way, how are you doing, friends? Once again time has escaped me and smalldogarific has temporarily fallen by they way side. Do remember though, I am always here in spirit.

Not only is Mylie Cyrus one of the hottest pop stars around but she’s also a friend to small dogs.
Paris Hilton may be a friend to small dogs, but the LAPD aren’t having it. The heiress, who boasted about her 17 dogs on the the Ellen DeGeneres show, has been forced to send some of her dogs packing after an animal rights group complained.
Not the work of small dogs but, a mail carrier in Pennsylvania was trapped in her mail truck for two hours after a resident’s dogs went all Cujo on her and flattened three of her tires. The dog’s owner thinks the dogs attacked the tires because she recently bought chew toys that look like a tire.
