You might wonder what life is like after winning one of the most prestigious titles in the world, the title of course of the world’s smallest dog. I am sure some of you assume that after the flash bulbs fade and the paparazzi scatter that life is likely to take many wrong turns, as it does for so many child actors who are thrust into a grown up world of public notoriety too quickly (i.e. Britney). Some of you may remember Dancer, the little chihuahua who took home the title last year. Where is dancer now you might ask? Passed out on a beach in Mexico? On the lam from the law? Of course not!!!!! Dancer is now showing off his skills as a therapy dog! If you go to that link you can watch him in action!
It looks like the dog bottled water market is booming! Human aren’t the only ones who need their water put into plastic and shipped half way around the world for enjoyment and consumption. I have a friend whose dog made herself sick from dehydration when she refused to drink tap water, apparently, they learned she had a taste for Evian.

It looks like Jack Russells may be acquiring the reputation as the new pit bull of the dog world. Does that even make sense?
This is not small dog news, but congrats to the 200lb mastiff named Lurch who has donated blood 20 times to help save the lives of other pups in need.

There’s been so much talk about Britney and who has custody of her children but, another good question, who has custody of her dogs??? E claims they are in “safe custody.”
If you live in the Houston area, keep your eyes on your small dogs, a Houston news station reports that the city is literally a hotbed for dognapping.
The Good Lord giveth away again when a man in Winston-Salem literally gave his neighbor’s dogs away at the local Walmart. Blue light special on Yorkies and Poodles, aisle 12.

So distraught from all the dog adoption drama, Ellen decided to take a day off from the taping of her show. Things should be back to normal for next week’s broadcasts. Oh, what will the weekend hold??? Save Iggy!!!! PS, that’s a photo of Iggy above.
Pierre Barnoti, executive director of the Montreal SPCA, likened many pet adoption interviews to “the Spanish Inquisition…I’ll be crucified for saying this, but a lot of people are convinced this is the only way of doing it.”
Just in time for the holiday shopping rush, a mall in Michigan is opening its door to small dogs! Iggy wants an Ipod shuffle! 123-go!
Britney apparently requested her Yorkie couriered to her as she shopped in a Beverly Hills department store. I wish they’d go ahead and standardize the sizes on small dog clothing, it’s so hard to tell what’s going to fit.
